The Ugly, Brutal Truth!!

********************************************************

WARNING: THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE AN EASY BREAZE OPTIMISTIC POST. IT WILL BE UGLY AND IT WILL BE BRUTAL!! So, IF you plan on bitching to me about it later, then don't even wast your time reading this.

********************************************************

So lately some things have happened to make me realize that I am unappreciated and that I am far to nice of a person… we'll things are about to change.

I am not some 120 lb, blond hair, blue eyed, tan skinny girl. I am a voluptuous plus sized girl and by no means am I here to impress anyone. I could defiantly afford to loose a few pounds (captain obvious) but no matter what I will still be a larger framed girl and I am okay with that. I don't spend 10 hours in front of the mirror before I walk out the door to do anything. Like I said by NO MEANS am I here to impress anyone…

I am a homebody and a family girl (who still swears she's adopted because I simply don't fit in my family) who would rather go to the park with her kids than the club with her friends. I put my family first and I am working towards an education so I can have a fantastic life for them.

My parents mean the world to me and I am so grateful for everything they gave up to raise me. They are truly amazing… everyone has there flaws and thats okay, I still love them at the end of the day.

I am always bending over backwards to change things that are beyond my control… i.e. My douche bag brother… So I have finally decide that i'm over trying to help other people who simply don't want to help them selves…

In a family of misfits (with the exception of a hand full) I am the only one trying to better my life. I am a student, an employee, an artist, a full time mother and a loving girlfriend… and at the end of the day I simply don't have time to play problem solver and try to fix everything else for everyone around me. People simply are ungrateful and unappreciative and don't deserve the help.

Some things simply are beyond my control. Thats all there is to it. I wish I could fix things… make them better again, have my best friend back… but its one of those things that are out of my reach. And I will simply end this by saying one last thing…

God grant me the serenity to
accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Creativity Explodes

So I wanted to create something hand made for my son's 2nd Birthday... and some may say I went overboard and yes, I do know that he is far to young to appreciate all the amazing things I am planning for his birthday. But my hopes are that SOMEONE will appreciate them, and hopefully one day monster will too.

The creative process was rather time consuming, but well worth it.

In the end they turned out AMAZING.

There is much much more to come from this amazing birthday party i'm planning for my special little monster. I never had a theme to my parties growing up or the goodie bags. So i'm trying my hardest to give my son the best life I can. I hope one day he can really appreciate all I am doing for him.

It is what it is...

Every once in a while, I wonder if school was the right choice for me. Then I take a close look at the things I have accomplished; maintaining a 3.5 GPA, raising a child, completing some amazingly difficult but fun projects, learning all this new stuff. And today I took a close look at the classes I still need to graduate college, inside my brain I am screaming, but I only need 6 classes after winter and spring quarter to graduate. Theoretically that is only summer and fall classes and I will be done with my first of three degrees (Graphic Design being the utmost important :D). I am so shocked at all the things I have accomplished and still being able to raise my little monster. Now i'm working, going to school and raising my monster. I can truly say that I am proud of myself.

My life is truly amazing and there isn't much more I could ask for. Besides for my best friend to be back home where she belongs so she can bask in the glory with me. (LBNR).

Life has given me some tough times this past year but it just goes to show that I can work through ANYTHING!! I am a strong woman with an amazing family and I appreciate them and all they do for me. I have the most amazing best friend EVER and I probably never would have made it this far and still kept my SANITY without her. I LOVE YOU ANNA DANIELLE CROUSE!! Thank You!!

101 in 1001

The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year’s resolutions or a ‘Bucket List’. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

Super Mom :) or shall we say Super Step-Mom??

So the count down has begun to Brooklyn's Big Bash at Daddy's House :). She will be turning 4 and we are super excited for her. She has chosen Ni Hao, Kai Lan as her theme this year. Decorations, invites, goodie bags, and much much more are all Kai Lan themed or chinese themed.

The front and Back of the invitations.

The inside of Brooklyn's Invitations

I created the invitations from scratch and might I say they turned out fantastic. I am very proud of my work. In the mean time I have been creating other decorations for the party including, origami swans, chinese stars, origami flowers and cutting all the confetti myself. I have been working very hard to create everything for the party. I also created a banner to be hung in front of our house to greet guests. I will post more photos of the decorations once I complete them. I am excited to celebrate with the little miss this year. She really loves having all the family together and playing with the other kids.

This is lil ol' me

My name is Ashley Crapsey and I am a graphic design student. I currently attend Davis College. I have one son and his name is Dallas aka "Monster", his nickname truly suits him. I am madly in love with Daniel F., he is such an amazing man and I truly believe that we are soul mates :). I plan on spending the rest of my life with him.

I have never blogged before so bare with me for a moment here as I learn a little more about it. I started this blog because I need a venting area. Sometimes people just don't understand. There has been a lot of stressful events in my life this year. To date my family has lost four dear family members. The most recent being my aunt Rosie (RIP), she passed away early this morning at my mothers home. This year we have also lost my Grandmother Crapsey (RIP), my cousin Christopher, and my cousin Vanessa.

So needless to say my family has had a VERY tough year. Lets just hope that it gets better.
